The Vallone family
As far as memory and written records can help, the history of the Vallone Family has always been intertwined with that of wine, like a vine does with wood.
A history intertwined with the vine
Entire generations of the Vallone family have dedicated time, life and passion to the vines and their fruits. Stefano Vallone, just like his father Vito and his great-grandfather before him.
A precious land
In the 1980s, Vito Vallone and his son Stefano discover the unique qualities hidden beneath the rocky appearance of Contrade Valso and San Nicola, along with its ancient village Permenino in the Alcamo area.
A land with components so precious as to deserve special care: they buy the lands, reclaim them by clearing the rocky skeleton, and begin to produce delicious wine grapes, exclusively for cooperative wineries.
A young wind
A few decades later, Stefano Vallone passes on the family mission to his sons Gabriele, Vito, and Fabio, who prove to be decisive in transforming the production: the Vallone family wine is born and, along with it, Tenute Valso.
A young wind that brings new varieties and awareness to the territories of Tenute Valso: Nero D’Avola, Grillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Perricone, Zibibbo, and Syrah, in addition to, of course, the classic and timeless Catarratto, an indigenous grape variety, the heart of the company with which the Alcamo DOC is produced.
Today, receiving the baton from their father, Gabriele is in charge of the technical-oenological activities in the company, and his brother Fabio has taken the reins of the agronomic activities.
